30th Birthday Party
Last weekend was my 30th! Belinda and I organised a bit of a catch up with lots of friends, starting on Saturday with a ‘Rock your heart out’ party.
We started at 3pm with a 10-person Poker game. As usual Jonny seemed to come out of the gates in the most crazy way, winning the first 5 or 6 hands with straights, multiple 3-of-a-kinds and other such nonsense. In the end, Hayden and Nayden split a $270 pot 2:1, and Hayden walked away with the championship ring.
Following that was the Rock Your Heart Out party. The premise was to have a bit of a Guitar Hero / Singstar party, and to get everone dressed up as their favourite Rock Star. We had disco balls, coloured lights and to top it all off - a smoke machine! At about 8:30, once everyone was getting into the swing of things, I handed out some prizes and unveiled the game ‘Rock Band’ to a crowd of cheering and hooting. It was a fantastic night and everyone had a great time.

I rounded out the weekend with a gaming day on Sunday, and come Monday was completely shattered. I think I’m almost back to normal today :)
